02 — How a build happens
01
Sit down with Johnny in the shop. Bring references, the bike you ride now, what's in your head. We talk vision, budget, donor, timeline.
Week 0 · Free02
Geometry, motor, transmission, wheels, tank, paint — spec'd and costed line-by-line. Signed off before a single weld.
Week 1 — 303
Frame on the jig. Engine bench-built and dyno-tuned. Harley, Indian, metric — your call. Performance work goes in here.
Week 3 — 1004
In-house metalwork — tanks, fenders, bars, brackets, exhaust. TIG, hammer and wheel. Where the bike becomes one-of-one.
Week 8 — 1605
Block-sanded, multi-stage, cleared and color-sanded. Candy, flake, satin, hand pinstripe — whatever the build calls for.
Week 14 — 2206
Shake-down ride by Johnny. Final dyno pass. Owner photoshoot at the shop. Keys, signed spec sheet, and the build file — yours.
Week 18 — 2603 — Capabilities
A bike that didn't exist last year. Frame, engine, sheet metal, paint — all from your spec.
Period-correct restorations of Harley, Indian and rare metric machines — back to better than new.
Tank, fender, frame, full bike. Multi-stage candy, flake, satin, hand pinstripe.
Stroker kits, head work, cams, exhaust, carb & fuel — built and dyno-tuned in-shop.
Tune-ups, service and repair on any American or metric machine. ATVs & side-by-sides too.
04 — Meet the builder
Johnny has done it all — TV shows, exotic bike builds, worldwide publications. And since 2004, he's been building one-of-one motorcycles out of the shop on Cactus Rd, where the floor is checkered and the air smells like fresh paint.
He learned every trade in the build process so nothing on a customer's bike ever has to leave the shop. Fabrication, paint, engine work, electrical — all in-house, all by hand. Harley, Indian, MV Agusta, metric café builds — if it has two wheels, it's come across his bench.
In 2008 Johnny was a headline builder on Chopper Challenge. Easyriders has run his work. Twenty-plus years on, the name's grown — the standard hasn't.
